CPUT will be introducing a new VPN solution (Global Protect VPN) which will replace the current student data allocations, provided by the university, which will be ending on 31 August 2020. The new VPN solution will allow students to securely access CPUT network resources, at no cost, when off campus. This solution has been successfully implemented within universities both locally and internationally with great success.
How to Prepare

Connecting from Off-Campus
Once you’ve installed the VPN client, you navigate to the VPN Portal (https://sop.cput.ac.za) with your device to connect to CPUT online resources.
Please Note: You need to switch on your mobile data in order to access the VPN portal with your mobile device. No data charges will be incurred and you will be able to connect with a zero data balance.

Important Dates
- 31 August 2020 – Student data allocations will come to an end
- September 2020 – Global Protect VPN available to CPUT students
