2025 Late applications at CPUT for programmes with available spaces as from November 2024

The closing date for the Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Studies will remain open until 14 March 2025.

2025 late applications will be available only for identified programmes with available spaces for the following application categories:

  • Applicants who exhausted only 1 or 2 options out of the maximum of 3 choices for applications submitted during the normal application timelines.
  • Applicants who did not apply during the normal application timelines (maximum of 3 choices)
  • Regretfully, no 4th choice, following Dean’s Discretionary process, will be considered during this late application timeframe
  • Students transferring from other universities
  • CPUT students who have taken a gap in their studies
  • Phasing out programmes (where applicable)

Applications are open for the following applicants:

  • National applicants (with an SA ID), including Refugee/Asylum Seeker and/or Permanent Residency applicants with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) / SC (Senior Certificate) / NCV (National Vocal Certificate) / National Qualification
  • National applicants (with an SA ID), Refugee/Asylum Seeker and Permanent Residency applicants applying towards bachelor’s degree studies, who has obtained international qualifications and who already have a CPUT Matriculation Exemption Certification (USAF)
  • National applicants (with an SA ID), Refugee/Asylum Seeker and Permanent Residency applicants, applying towards other studies except bachelor’s degree, who has obtained international qualifications and who already have SAQA certification

Important notice

Only completed applications will be considered. Please consult the list of supporting documentation.

Only applications that followed the outlined application processes above will be considered as an application.

Manual application submission will not be considered except otherwise stated in the list provided i.e. few non-degree purpose progammes.

Postal Services (including courier services) will not be considered.

Due to limited residence space, the residence department does not accept late applications. Academic acceptance to CPUT do not constitute residence acceptance or placement. It is therefore recommended that students make alternative arrangements for accommodation.

Application outcome

Selections will be conducted within the respective Faculties and the outcome will be communicated via SMS to the applicant. Please track your outcome frequently and/or download your acceptance letter by accessing the CPUT website link: http://www.cput.ac.za/study/track
