Target Audience
This course is designed to equip participants with a broad understanding of the dynamic field of human resources management. Who should attend:
- Persons wishing to enhance their workplace skills in people management;
- Those entering a career in the field of Human Resources Management, and
- Persons wishing to further their career in the field of HRM.
Course Structure
- Introduction to Human Resource Management; foundation, evolutionary development, nature andenvironment of human resource management
- Role of HRM: HR Structure, roles, activities and strategic alliance
- Introduction to Organisational Behaviour : Foundations of OB and Individual Behaviour
- Individual Behaviour : Attitudes, Job Satisfaction, Personality, Values, Perceptions and Motivationof individuals in the work context
- Legislative Framework for HRM in SA: Introductory overview to Labour Legislation in South Africa.
Assessment and Certification
Assignment 1: Workforce Diversity in SA - 25%
Class Test: Units 1 & 2 - 20%
Assignment 2: Global issues impacting on HRM - 25%
Summative Assessment
Final Exam All Units - 30%
