Short Courses

• A diploma or degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification recognised by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
• A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in Computer Tomography (CT).
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• In the event of an international applicant, registration with the statutory body of the specific country.

Diagnostic Radiographers (minimum of 2 years experience post community service year) *Note: The course was approved by the HPCSA as a short learning programme.

Health and safety regulations, ethical principles, guidelines and codes of practice. Safety, CT physics, image acquisition, Storage and manipulation, Quality assurance, CT Anatomy, CT pathology, Medico-legal aspects

• The course will consist of a theoretical and clinical subject.
• Subject 1: CT Physics and Instrumentation
• Subject 2: CT Clinical Practice
• DP: requirement: A Total of 640 hours/+- 5 months of clinical hours must be logged in the CT department.
