Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering lecturer, Rory Pentz is delighted to be one of the recipients of the Thuthuka Grant Awards for 2021.

Postdoctoral fellow Dr Naeem Sheik Abdul has added another accolade to his name – the prestigious Colgate-Palmolive Postdoctoral Award in In Vitro Toxicology.

Four academics in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment have achieved National Research Foundation (NRF) ratings for 2021 - 2026.

All hands on deck for CHE visit

Faculty and support unit coordinators are hard at work ensuring that it’s all systems go for the much anticipated virtual site visit by the national review for doctoral qualifications panel.

The South African Research Chair(SARChI) in Work-integrated Learning, Prof Christine Winberg is “extremely” delighted that the programme’s funding will be renewed for another five years by the National Research Foundation (NRF).

Students restore heritage structures

Civil Engineering and Surveying students are thrilled to bolster the national Department of Arts and Culture and other heritage authorities to overcome the common challenge facing heritage structures caused by the use of incompatible materials during heritage conservation and restoration.

As we celebrate Heritage Month, Dr Bongani Ncube, a researcher at the Centre for Water and Sanitation Research, under the Department of Civil Engineering and Surveying devotes her time to working with communities to conserve our natural resources, be it soil, water or plant life.
