Alumni gathering boosts Bursary Fund

Alumni, staff, friends and supporters of CPUT have joined forces to mark the close of 2014, raising thousands for the university’s Bursary Fund in a festive get-together at a city hotel.

There is still time to RSVP to the much-anticipated Alumni Year-End Celebration which takes place on Friday, 5th December at a trendy city hotel. Not only are all graduates of CPUT and the former Cape and Peninsula Technikons invited, but friends, partners, staff and supporters of the university are most welcome too.

Thanks to the generosity of German aircraft equipment manufacturing company, KUNZ, two academically-deserving students have been given a potentially life-changing opportunity.

CPUT’s progress in meeting the physical and academic needs of staff and students with disabilities was celebrated last week, as students, design gurus, disability experts and donors gathered to showcase the university’s innovations in empowering persons with disabilities.

The RSVP’s are flying in thick and fast to the events planned for CPUT’s alumni in Gauteng, Namibia and Cape Town in the next few weeks. All graduates (alumni) of CPUT and the former Cape and Peninsula Technikons based in these areas are invited to attend.

29 of CPUT’s academically-deserving students studying Civil Engineering, Building Surveying and Architectural Technology are the latest recipients of bursaries, each valued at R60 000.

A passion for nurturing strong relationships with industry is paying dividends for both students and the companies who offer internships to them.
