CPUT celebrates 10 000 vaccinations

VACCINATED: More than 10 000 vaccinations have been administered at CPUT's vaccination centre, VACCINATED: More than 10 000 vaccinations have been administered at CPUT's vaccination centre,

The CPUT Vaccination Centre has passed the 10 000 vaccinations mark.

This milestone was reached last week, said Vaccination Manager, Benjamin de Waal.

He said more than 1 000 students had been vaccinated at the centre with an additional 700 booked for the week.

“Although many students are going to other centres closer to where they stay, we do believe that there are still many students who have not accessed vaccination. They are welcome to register on the OPA and we will book them an appointment within seven days. Alternatively, they can just come to the centre and we will assist them when they arrive.”

The centre, which is based at the Richard Sacco Building on the Bellville campus, opened its doors in June and was the first at a post-school education centre in South Africa.

Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Prof Chris Nhlapo recently handed out wristbands to staff and students at the Centre.

The free wristbands state: “I am vaccinated”.
