Do you need to go online?

CPUT offers several online resources to help students, both registered and prospective.

Computer laboratories

CPUT students have unlimited access to state of the art computer facilities for all their academic needs.

  • The IT Centre on the Bellville Campus provides access to 1 000 workstations in laboratories, giving students access to the internet, printing and e-mail facilities.
  • At the Cape Town Campus students can access computer and printing facilities at the E-Learning building.
  • All other campuses and sites provide students with access to computer laboratories.

Each laboratory has support staff on-hand to help where needed.

Students and lecturers have access to an interactive electronic Learner Management System (LMS) called MyClassroom. This online classroom allows lecturers to create learning spaces for all subjects offered at the university, including short courses. The LMS allows for the following:

  • Group discussions
  • Emails
  • Wikis and Blogs
  • Online test and assignments

CPUT Mobile App

In 2014 the university launched its first Mobile App, which allows individuals to access a range of CPUT information and services from a smartphone. Users have access to:

  • Course announcements
  • Paperless meeting documents
  • Examination results
  • The CPUT prospectus, application status and much more.

The Mobile App has been intelligently customized to show tailored information for students, staff or members of the public, and elements such as the weather, news and student jobs have been incorporated.
