Are you feeling under the weather?

CPUT offers several services to help ensure the health and well-being of our students.

Campus Health Clinics

Whether you have a cold, a more serious ailment or an emergency, the caring and professional staff at our campus health clinics will be able to assist.

The services offered are available to registered CPUT students and include:

  • General medical consultations
  • HIV testing and counselling
  • Wound dressings and assistance with minor injuries

Students have to make an appointment to visit the clinic. In cases of emergency an appointment is not required. For more information contact the various clinics:

Student Counselling

The Student Counselling unit promotes student wellness and assists students to reach success during their time at the institution.

Support is offered in various forms including:

  • Individual counselling and therapy
  • Career development
  • Academic support and advocacy
  • Peer helpers and skills development

HIV/Aids Unit

The HIV/Aids Unit plays a key role in student wellness at the university as it aims to prevent, control and manage HIV/Aids, sexually transmitted infections, and TB among students and staff. A key feature of the unit is its Wellness Mobile Unit, which throughout the year visits the various campuses.

Services offered include the following:

  • HIV counselling and testing
  • ongoing care and support
  • community outreach programmes
  • workshops for students, staff, and the community
