Table Tennis players rake in the medals at CUCSA Games
WINNERS: Zizipho Ntlali, Ntuthuzelo Lusithi and Logan Willemse won 11 medals at the CUCSA Games.

Three CPUT table tennis players raked in the medals at the recent Confederation of Universities and Colleges Sports Association (CUCSA) Games, returning home with eleven medals between them.
Logan Willemse, Zizipho Ntlali and Ntuthuzelo Lusithi represented Team South Africa at the Games, which were held in Botswana from 28 June to 5 July.
Logan, an Education student, earned four medals – gold for team events, gold in the doubles, gold in mixed doubles and bronze in the singles.
“Competing at the 2026 CUCSA Games in Botswana was an amazing opportunity that I will always be grateful for. It was a privilege to represent South Africa and my institution, CPUT. Every day brought new matches and new challenges, so I made it my goal to step up to the table and give my best, no matter who I was playing,” she said.
“Beyond the competition, I enjoyed meeting new people, experiencing a different culture and creating memories that will stay with me for years to come. I'm proud to have returned home with three gold medals and one bronze medal. This tournament has been an incredible experience both on and off the table.”
Zizipho, an Accounting student, won gold for team events, gold in doubles (with Logan), silver in mixed doubles (with Ntuthuzelo) and silver in the singles.
“It was my first time at the games, and the competition was high, as I had expected. The nerves were really going, but I managed them and could stay focused. The experience has taught me how to perform under pressure and to adapt quickly. I also got to socialise with athletes from different countries. It was a very beautiful and interesting experience.”
Ntuthuzelo, a Mathematical Science student, said the Games were “a great experience”.
“It was tough but it was good, and it was an honour to represent the country.”
He received gold for team events, gold in doubles and silver in mixed doubles.
