FID celebrates ten doctoral graduates
ACHIEVEMENT: Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Design, Prof Prof Tembisa Ngqondi. The Faculty boasts ten doctoral graduates.

The Faculty of Informatics and Design (FID) is proud to have ten doctoral graduates this SMART graduation – six of whom are staff members.
Their journey to graduation as well as the success of the Faculty’s 26 Master’s graduates were celebrated during an online pre-graduation event held on June, 25.
The faculty has the highest number of doctoral graduates during SMART graduation June 2021.
The ten doctoral graduates, starting with the six staff members,are:
- Mourine Achieng – Doctor of Philosophy: Informatics
- Wilhelm Rothman – Doctor Technologiae: Information Technology
- Oluwamayowa Ogundiani – Doctor of Philosophy: Informatics
- Belinda Verster – Doctor of Applied Arts in Design.
- Annadine Vlok – Doctor Technologiae: Design
- David Makola (posthumous) - Doctor Technologiae: Informatics
- Gilbert Mahlangu – Doctor of Information & Communication Technology
- Kyle Fitzgerald - Doctor of Information & Communication Technology
- Idon Subuyi - Doctor Technologiae: Informatics
- Ralitsa Debrah - Doctor of Applied Arts in Design
