Covers production management techniques and its relationship to other business functions. Introduction of practical tools to measure performance, determine throughput, improve productivity, and optimise capacity with the aim to reduce operating cost and thereby improve profits through effective control and risk management.
• Understanding the functions of generic management and the application thereof in the production environment
• Understand the role and responsibilities of an operations manager
• Understand the development and application of OM in the current business context
• Understand the role of OM; its relationships to other business functions and how OM assists the attainment of business objectives
