Students entering the program must possess basic patternmaking and pattern grading knowledge along with a general understanding of computers as well as Grade 12
If you are a trained patternmaker, adding computerized patternmaking to your skills is vital to compete in today’s market. Whether you work in children’s, men’s, or women’s wear, this program will provide you with hands-on computer experience applicable to your company’s designs and specifications. The basics of system management, digitizing, plotting, and pattern development are introduced using Gerber Accumark. If required the facilitator can assist and advise delegates with the conversion from Accumark to other CAD systems.
Introduction to Accumark
Digitising of a complete pattern
Preparation for an entire pattern with all its pieces
Compiling of a rule table and entering in computer
Setting up of parameters, grading and drawing up rule tables from specification sheets
Checking of grade rules and grade points
Preparation of a pattern marker

At the end of the course delegates would have gained valuable experience with the Accumark functions of data management, grading, and marker-making, and progress into the patternmaking functions. Patterns are developed and plotted with full attention to accuracy .

What CPUT Short Course students say...

I met beautiful people, learn about other cultures. Learning English at CPUT was such a great experience that I will never ever forget. Those who want to learn English in Cape while having fun, CPUT is here for you. I am sure you will not regret it at all.

I chose the short course at CPUT, because I am a mom of a two year old. Doing a correspondance course just wouldn’t work for me. CPUT offers evening classes, which enabled me to attend classes for 6 months. I absolutely enjoyed attending the classes, I also learnt a lot and made friends within the similar fields and with similar interest. Thank you CPUT and the SCM team.
