Diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacture
The aim of the course is to prepare students for the South African Jewellery Industry in design, manufacturing, marketing and managerial capacities while fostering a South African design ethic that does not rely on mass plagiarism of imported images.
The course will equip you with the skills to design and manufacture jewellery, from the preparation of materials, through to adding the final touches to your sparkling creation.
The course objectives include: drawing on historical studies that heighten design awareness; developing applied drawing and illustration techniques; developing skills to communicate design intention; developing technical skills to manufacture jewellery by hand and using digital technologies, all the while instilling good workshop practice.
