The Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing enables graduates and working professionals to undertake advanced reflection and development by means of a systematic scoping and analysis of current thinking, practice and research methodology and methods for effective strategic application in Marketing. This qualification demands a high level of theoretical engagement and intellectual independence, as well as the ability to relate and apply knowledge and skills effectively and efficiently to a range of Marketing or Marketing-related contexts. It further seeks to cultivate a higher level of critical strategic thinking, preparing students to be able to perform tasks that require increasingly more complex and abstract mental levels.

The qualification is designed to produce graduates to work and operate strategically at managerial level in a cross-disciplinary Marketing business environment. It prepares the graduate for high level of theoretical engagement and intellectual independence, advanced reflection and development through systematic scoping and analysis of current thinking, as well as the ability to relate and apply knowledge and skills effectively and efficiently for effective strategic application in a range of Marketing or Marketing-related contexts.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing is designed to address challenges that organisations may face on a strategic level to enable them to compete effectively in a new Marketing era. The qualification content is designed to produce graduates to be strategic and operate at a managerial level in a cross-disciplinary Marketing environment and consequently add value to business and the community at large. Thus the suite of subjects identified is: - Strategic Marketing Management aims to examine business process implications to ensure the creation of customer value. - Strategic Brand Management aims to embed a deeper increased importance strategically of the organisation’s brand image and identity. - Strategic Digital Marketing as a key driver in a business environment where organisations have to negotiate the strategic impact of Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Intelligence and Virtual reality. - Research Methodology as a critical capacity enabling businesses to stay abreast with any developments and trends and compete in a fast changing business environment. Due to the nature, focus and NQF level graduates will be equipped to use various marketing applications to analyse, research and strategically apply at managerial levels in the Marketing and related business environment and consequently effectively respond to changing trends at a strategic level.
