Admission Requirements
To qualify for admission to the programme, an applicant must have obtained an average of 60% (including 60% for majors) in the HEQSF aligned Diploma in Event Management or pre-HEQSF National Diploma: Event Management or an equivalent qualification in related fields of study such as: tourism, hospitality, sports, project management, and marketing.

The prospective student will be in possession of a recognised NQF level 6 qualification such as a pre-HEQSF

National Diploma or HEQSF aligned Diploma with a minimum of 60 % in the final subjects of the final year where the qualification includes an appropriate event management knowledge base. Applicants with academic achievement between 55 % 59 % will be considered at the discretion of the Head of Department.

Applicants with qualifications in the listed related fields of study will also be considered at the discretion of the Head of Department for admission to the qualification. Exit level outcomes and subject content from the listed related qualifications will be analysed to determine the extent of threshold concepts required for the successful completion of the Advanced Diploma in Event Management. If necessary, applicants may be required to complete additional subjects in order to qualify for admission.

Applicants with qualifications in other fields, but who have industry experience, may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning.
