About us
At the Judicial Office we render professional services to both students and staff by offering you our best attention to detail in aiding you to ensure the protection of your rights and responsibilities at CPUT.
Mission
We strive to ensure maintenance of discipline by correcting behavior, setting standards for good citizenship and instilling ethics while acknowledging the rights and responsibilities of students.
Our function
Judicial Affairs focuses on the following:
- Attending to student conduct and complaints.
- Conducting investigations, disciplinary inquiries and hearings into alleged violation of CPUT Student Rules and Code of Conduct.
- Providing, guiding and enforcing disciplinary and grievance processes and procedures.
- Initiating student cases on behalf of the institution, to the Student Affairs Disciplinary Committee.
- Providing assistance and advice to students on matters legal in nature.
- Mediating student to student and/or student to staff conflicts.
- Assisting students with processes on registering criminal cases at SA Police Service.
- Assisting investigating high profile staff matters and recommending action to be taken.
