SOUTH AFRICA'S INDEPENDENT
TEXTILES TESTING LAB

We provide innovation support to the clothing textiles and related sectors.

WHO WE ARE

The Technology Station Clothing and Textiles (TSCT) was established in 2002 and was funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) through the Tshumisano Trust. In 2010 through an act of parliament (Technology Innovation Agency Act No 26 of 2008) the Tshumisano Trust was merged with a number of DST entities to form Technology Innovation Agency (www.tia.org.za )

OUR OBJECTIVES

The TSCT was established to provide innovation support to the clothing and textile and related industries to become more competitive with an emphasis on SMMEs. This would directly provide feedback into the teaching, learning and research at the University by engaging staff and students in its programmes and thus UoTs become responsive to industry needs.
