The yearly showcase of innovative research and practice in the ECP domain at all the higher education institutions in the Western Cape is taking place on Thursday 25 August 2016. The theme for this year is social inclusion, an increasingly important and essential principle that should be guiding much of what we do as educators in the ECP environment. The symposium has attracted some interesting and topical presentation proposals from colleagues at all the institutions in the region and will also host a special practice-sharing session. Associate Professor Andre van Zyl (see abstract below) will deliver the keynote address that will challenge our notions of how ECP students are perceived in relation to mainstream and how to address issues of ‘othering’. Registration for the symposium can be done online and will close on 18 August 2016.
